The leading Canadian natural and organic foods supermarket chain Planet Organic Health Corp. has recorded net income before tax for the third quarter of C$0.785m (US$0.717m), up 100.8% from C$0.391m in the third quarter of 2005.

“This is our fifth consecutive profitable quarter,” said chief financial officer Darren Krissie. “With more locations on the horizon, we are continuing to drive the top-line and bottom-line growth of the company.”
The company previously reported a 26.1% rise in third-quarter sales from C$8.0m to C$10.1m, with the increase attributed to acquisitions and store expansions completed in fiscal 2005 and the first quarter of 2006, as well as same-store sales growth in the current quarter.
