The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning consumers with allergies to milk protein not to consume Rapunzel brand Pure Organic Swiss Semisweet and Bittersweet Chocolates.


These products have been found to contain milk protein which is not declared on the label.


All codes of the following products are affected by this alert.


1. Rapunzel, Pure Organic Swiss Chocolate, Bittersweet Chocolate 70% Cocoa, 85g, UPC 7 35037 05021 5.


2. Rapunzel, Pure Organic Swiss Chocolate, Semisweet Chocolate, 85g, UPC 7 35037 01010 3.

These products, which are manufactured by Swiss firm Maestrani for US firm Rapunzel Pure Organics, are being voluntarily recalled from the marketplace by Tony Waters Agencies, North Vancouver. They may have been distributed nationally.


Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
