Green Mountain Coffee has introduced two new Fair Trade certified coffees, High Andes Blend and High Andes Decaf, but they are both limited edition and will only be available until 28 June 2002.

High Andes Blend features Fair Trade certified coffees from the Colombian and Peruvian Andes. High Andes Decaf is also from the Andes.

These coffees, which have been certified Fair Trade by TransFair USA, provide small-scale farmers with a fair price for their coffee. This enables them to maintain and improve the quality of their coffee and the quality of life for their families and communities.

Last year Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) sold over 800,000 pounds of Fair Trade certified coffee.

Lindsey Bolger, coffee manager for GMCR said: “I am very happy that we can offer consumers the taste profile of High Andes Blend and High Andes Decaf, while helping to sustain small scale Fair Trade coffee farmers, their families, and their communities. These are a real win for consumers and for the farming families that grow these coffees.”
