McCain Foods, the world’s leading French fry maker, yesterday [Wednesday] reported a 16.3% rise in international consolidated sales for its fiscal year ended 30 June.

Sales climbed to C$6.1bn (US$3.87bn), showing a compound growth rate in excess of 16% over 30 years, the Florenceville, New Brunswick-based company said. Harrison McCain, chairman of the family-owned processing titan, attributed much of the year’s strong performance to the acquisition of Anchor Food Products in the US. He said the sales increase was also influenced by continued growth in existing markets and by successful integration of recently acquired businesses in New Zealand, South Africa and Canada.
