In a bid to inform consumers about whole grains, Canada’s Whole Grains Bureau has launched a website providing nutritional information.

According to a poll carried out for the bureau in August, although 79% of the 1,100 respondents said they knew what whole grains were, only a few consumers could correctly identify whole grain products.

The Whole Grains Bureau said the site provides perspectives and recommendations from registered dieticians and the nutritional accuracy of the website’s content has been verified by a team of registered dieticians.

The Whole Grains Bureau is sponsored by Canada Bread’s Dempster’s WholeGrains.
