Canada-based pet-food producer The Crump Group has announced a “significant expansion” of its US manufacturing facility to meet demand.

The dog-treat maker said that the development of the Nashville, North Carolina, plant “marks a pivotal moment in the company’s commitment to growth, innovation and community impact”.

The pet-food business will invest $85m in the move, which “will significantly bolster the company’s production”, according to a statement.

The Crump Group acquired the factory in 2021, which involved a $40m investment to “procure the property, manufacturing facility, and equipment”.

It added the extension of the site will enable the business to better serve “its expanding customer base”.

CEO Margot Crump said: “With heightened customer demand, we stand poised to aggressively expand our operations, while maintaining unmatched value to our customers.
