Polish retailer Zabka, which is owned by Slovak financial group Penta, has purchased Czech c-store operator Palma for an undisclosed sum.

Katerina Válková, a spokeswoman for Zabka, told just-food that the Palma stores would be converted into Superettes stores. The remodelling will be completed by the end of the current fiscal, Válková said.
Zabka currently operates 62 stores in the Czech Republic.

Palma’s 2007 revenues – the most recent figure available – totalled CZK106m (US$5.9m).
