
Danone has extended its baby-focused brand Cow & Gate into the market for toddler snacks in the UK.
The new Super Yummies range includes freeze-dried fruit pieces and vegetable slices, breadsticks, rice cakes, and a variety of fruit and yoghurt pouches.
The products target children aged 12 months and above and contains only naturally occurring salt and sugar.
The freeze-dried fruit pieces come in banana and yoghurt and strawberry and yoghurt lines. The vegetable slices are available in beetroot and parsnip slices. Breadsticks come in tomato and basil or spinach flavours and contain no added salt. The pouches are available three varieties; mixed berries and coconut; strawberry, kiwi and banana; and an apple and forest fruits Greek-style yoghurt option. Danone has developed two rice cakes apple and orange, plus pear and berries.
The range will be available from Tesco supermarkets in the UK from 19 January and all other major stockists from mid-February with prices ranging from GBP0.75 to GBP1.69 (US$1.09 to $2.46) per item.
