Arla Foods subsidiary Tholstrup Cheese has entered into an agreement to sell pasta manufacturer Pastella to Beauvais.
“The sale of Tholstrup’s pasta business reflects our wish to concentrate on our core business. We’re pleased to sell to Beauvais whom we’re convinced can continue and develop the business,” Arla Foods’ vice CEO Povl Krogsgaard said today (23 April).
Pastella is the market leader in the fresh pasta category in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Holland. With annual turnover of DKK130m (US$23.6m), the company is headquartered in Fredericia and has production facilities in Fredericia and Skovlund.
With an annual turnover of DKK650m, Beauvais produces a range of foods under the Beauvais produces and markets a wide range of food products under the Beauvais, Fresh Light, Risifrutti, Den Gamle Fabrik, Grandiosa and Glyngøre brands.
“The fresh pasta market is growing, and the purchase of Pastella will strengthen Beauvais’ brand portfolio as well as further developing this area in the Nordic countries,” said Beauvais’ CEO Per Fallang.
