In a world of corporate Scrooges, the spirit of Christmas has not been lost on Arla Foods. Imbued with the traditional generosity of Santa Claus, executives at the Danish division of the largest dairy firm in Europe have announced that all Danish dairy herd owners will receive a seasonal holiday bonus of DKr70,000.

It seems that the move was prompted by a year of exceeded financial targets, which saw earnings per lire of milk rise by around 5 øre (DKr0.05) compared to 1999. Fiscal results for the total company are to be published on 14 December.
