Danish/Swedish dairy processor Arla Foods has launched a new low-fat cheese under the Klovborg brand.

The new cheese, sold as Klovborg 16% Lagret, is produced and stored at Arla’s Hjoerring dairy on the Danish Jutland peninsula, a facility which focuses primarily on producing low-far hard cheeses.

The new cheese is produced under the same method used in making the full-fat Klovborg that includes the special Klovborg acid, which gives the cheese a slightly sour flavour. A Christmas version of Klovborg will be produced in time for the holidays, the company said.
