French vegetable processor Bonduelle Group has been drawn into an investigation into anti-competitive practices being carried out by the European Commission.

Brussels confirmed it has launched a probe into possible price collusion in the market for own-label canned mushrooms in April.

A spokesperson said the Commission has since sent out a statement of objections to a number of producers but declined to elaborate further.

In a statement released by Bonduelle, the company said it will “submit its observations in response to the statement of objections to the European Commission”. The company did not respond to requests for further comment.
