The creation of a series of limited duty free quotas allowing Turkish processed food products to be imported into the European Union (EU) has been approved by the EU Council of Ministers.

Lines include sugar confectionary, chewing gum, white chocolate, boiled sweets, cocoa powder, malt extract, couscous, sweet biscuits and pasta.

The new import quotas are designed to facilitate Turkey’s smooth transition into the EU. The regulation is expected to provide a boost to Turkish food manufacturers, while simultaneously opening new options to European importers and distributors.
