Finnish meat producer Atria has announced further job cuts at its Jyvaskyla production plants.
Following the termination of a meat packaging contract with Saarioinen Oy effective 15 February, the firm has said the “necessary adaptation measures and personnel negotiations will begin immediately”. 48 jobs are at risk.
At the end of last month Atria announced 59 jobs at the plant would go as it hoped to “increase the efficiency of beef and pork procurement and processing at its Jyväskylä plant to improve profitability and productivity.”
