Nestlé wants to expand its presence in the Finnish market through the formation of partnerships and through acquisition.

According to a report in Esmerk Finnish News, Lars Finér, head of Nestlé Nordic, said that the company is particularly interested in companies with a presence in the health food sector. The world’s largest food company is also interested in Finnish companies with interesting patents, as Nestlé may want to acquire licences for them.

According to Finér, the Nordic countries are forerunners in the development of healthy foods. He said that Finnish consumers are very interested in health food, adding that this makes the Finnish market ideal for testing novelty health products.
