Finnish meat company HK Ruokatalo is planning to increase its 11.1% stake in Sokolów, Poland’s largest meat company, to a maximum of 21.1%.

HK Ruokatalo, which has had a stake in Sokolów since December 2002, said the exact number of shares to be acquired would be determined as a result of separate transactions.

HK Ruokatalo said it is interested in developing Sokolów in a long-term manner during Poland’s EU membership and is therefore willing to enhance its position in the company as an important minority owner.
