Finland-based retailer Kesko has reported a 6.6% rise in half-year revenue, buoyed by rising grocery sales.
The company said today (14 July) that first-half turnover reached EUR4.9bn (US$7.8bn) with sales from its Kesko Food unit up 5.4% to EUR1.99bn. Kesko did not give half-year profit figures.
In April, the group’s said first-quarter earnings had slumped 37% due to falling grocery margins and a revamp of its food retail stores, despite rising sales.
