Supermarkets in Finland saw their combined February sales increase 5.5% year-on-year to reach €278m (US$245.6m).

Weak sales during the first two weeks of January, and the effects of Finland’s transition to the euro, meant that supermarkets’ combined sales in January were up just 1.3% year on year.

For January and February together, the Finnish Food Marketing Association (FFMA) reported that the supermarkets’ combined turnover totalled €576m, up 3.3% year-on-year.
