French bakery group Brossard has entered into exclusive negotiations with Icelandic seafood group Alfesca over the sale of its frozen food business.

Brossard’s president and CEO Joël Schumacher said that the divestment would allow the group to concentrate on its cake and biscuit-making activities.

The group’s frozen food business includes two production plants, located in Castelsarrasin and Neubourg. The unit manufactures aperitifs, savoury snacks, desserts, sweet snacks and cakes.

No information has been disclosed the unit’s turnover.

For Alfesca, the acquisition would expand its existing brand portfolio and strengthen its production base in France, where it owns the Labeyrie, Blini, Delpierre, Le Traiteur Grec and ADRIMEX / Michel Adrien brands.
