According to a report published yesterday (14 September) by TNS Worldpanel, French retailer Carrefour had regained some ground in its home market, increasing its share of French sales by 0.6%.

Thanks to price cuts and customer loyalty schemes, Carrefour increased its share of the French market to 14% for the year to June, TNS said. The retailer has regained the market share that it enjoyed four years ago, before its market share began to decline.

TNS found that Leclerc remains the largest retailer in France, with 17.1% of the market – up 0.1%. The third biggest player during the year to June was found to be Intermarche, whose market share rose to 11.5%.
