French retail giant Auchan is to postpone the opening of its fourth hypermarket in Russia until next year.
The store was due to be opened at the end of this year but is to be delayed while the company adjusts its retail and logistics systems in Russia, Interfax reported, citing a company source.
Auchan opened its first hypermarket in Russia in Moscow in August 2002. Its second and third hypermarkets were opened in December 2002 and June 2003.
The company wants to make improvements to the systems despite not having any serious competitors in Russia yet, the source said.
