As part of a concerted drive to meet growing consumer requirements for healthier eating and drinking, Selecta, France’s biggest vending machine distributor of food and beverages, is testing out a new machine, named Vitalite, in the Paris metro.

Located alongside traditional vending machines dispensing coffee and high-calorie fare, Vitalite offers a selection of fruit juices, pureed fruits, fruit salads and packaged apples.

Selecta, which recently had to remove around 1,000 machines from schools and colleges as part of government campaign against child obesity, is also testing out a machine which offers around 15 brands of still and sparking mineral water and also one specialising in “light” starter and dessert dishes and situated on business premises.
