Bruno Fromage, the MD of Danone’s operations in the UK, is to step down from his role for medical reasons.

Fromage, who joined Danone in 1983, took the UK role in November after a stint overseeing its fresh dairy business in Portugal.

In a statement issued today (2 August), Danone said Fromage was “stepping down from his current position for medical reasons”.

He will be replaced by Nicolas Riom, vice president for people and organisational development for the company.

Riom joined Danone in 2000 and his previous roles include two years as general manager for the company’s dairy business in France between 2007 and 2009.

Danone also announced that Corinne Chant, marketing manager for the Activia brand in the UK, has become its marketing director in the country.
