French processed vegetable group Bonduelle could be looking to strengthen its presence in the US with the acquisition of the Green Giant brand, according to reports.

Bonduelle, which already manufactures Green Giant under licence in Canada for brand-owner General Mills, is understood to have said it would purchase the brand from the US food giant if the company were to sell, Les Echos reported today (15 December).

However, Bonduelle CEO Christophe Bonduelle told the French daily that the firm would not be willing to pay “any price” for the brand. He added that, in order to strengthen its presence in the US, it would also be willing to buy “one or two plants” in the country.
