Alete, the private-equity backed, German baby food business, has confirmed that Peter Hüttmann will become its new MD next year.

Hüttmann will succeed Horst Jostock on 1 January. Jostock ?will continue to be a member of the board of management at Alete, which was acquired by German investment group BWK from Nestle in 2014.

Hüttmann, 42, is joining Alete from German tea company the Ostfriesische Tee Gesellschaft, part of the country’s family-owned Laurens Spethmann Holding, where he has led the international sales and marketing division since 2011. Prior to that, he previously spent more than ten years in marketing positions with Procter & Gamble, Alete said.

Alete said last year the group is targeting international growth with a particular focus on eastern Europe, Russia and China. The group declined to comment on its sales targets, but a spokesperson said it was in the process of signing a number of local distribution partners.
