Amazon Germany has launched an online shop offering food and beverages.

The company is offering over 35,000 products through www.amazon.de/food.

The products are provided by the company through partnerships with more than 60 providers. The service uses Prime or Overnight Shipping and the offer includes produce with a short shelf life such as meat, fish, vegetables and bread.

The new store also takes into account special needs and dietary requirements, allowing visitors to filter their product search according to product category, supplier and dietary preference.

According to Amazon, the aim of the new store is to make daily grocery shopping “more comfortable and attractive”, enabling shoppers to find a full range of commonly purchased items “quickly and conveniently in one place”.

The company is also offering an express service in Frankfurt and Berlin where orders made before 11am will be delivered at 7pm in the evening.
