US-based sandwich chain Subway is reportedly planning a massive expansion programme in Germany.

The company plans to increase its number of outlets in Germany to 1,500 in the next seven years, Dow Jones International News reported, citing newspaper Handelsblatt.

“In terms of the number of outlets we want to be number one in every important market,” Subway manager Christian Tuercke was quoted as saying.

The company, which has over 20,000 outlets worldwide, has just opened its 63rd outlet in Germany.
