Greek-Danish cheese manufacturer Arla Foods Hellas has revealed that it expects the financial year to 30 September 2001 to provide an operating profit of US$392,000 and sales of US$60.1m.


Established in 2000 as a joint venture between food manufacturing group Delta Holding and Danish Arla Foods, Arla Foods Hellas started exports of feta cheese to the UK, Sweden, Canada, Australia and Germany in March 2001 and will have generated US$2.6m by 30 September, 2001.


The company added that for the financial year ending September 2002, it has forecast operating profit of US$1.7m and turnover of US$78.5m. Feta cheese exports will meanwhile exceed US$5.2m by next September.
