
US confectionery giant Hershey has announced Michele Buck, its president and CEO, has also been elected as the company’s chairman of the board of directors.
The appointment is effective immediately.
Buck will also continue in her current role as president and CEO,, a role she has held since March 2017.
She succeeds chairman Chuck Davis who will re-assume the role of lead independent director, a role he held from May 2017 until his appointment as chairman in May 2018.
Buck said: “For the past couple of years, I’ve had the honour to work closely with Chuck Davis in his role as chairman and it has been an incredible opportunity to learn from one of the best.”
Hershey said that the combination of the offices of CEO and chairman of the board “underscores the board’s confidence in Hershey, the existing management team and Buck”.

Buck, who joined Hershey in 2005, was named the company’s CEO in December 2016 when the Reese’s maker promoted the executive from her role of COO.
