HKScan has announced it has taken up a 24% share in Svenska Kottforetagen AB, an industry organisation formed of a network of Swedish slaughtering companies.
HKScan co-owns the company with five other meat processors.
Svenska Köttföretagen will offer “specialised advisory services” related to animal production, animal welfare and pig genetics. Its target is to enhance the productivity of Swedish animal production.
The organisation “aims to work towards building a strong platform for the future growth of the Swedish meat industry and to actively participate in legislative and regulative processes as well as to openly participate in consumer and other stakeholder dialogue,” HKScan said.
