Miguel Facusse Barjum, uncle of President Carlos Flores Facusse and owner of food processing plant Cressida, faces ten years in prison if he is found guilty of contaminating drinking water of five neighbourhoods in Tegucigalpa. A judge issued a warrant for his arrest following allegations that his factory dumped toxins into local canals for over 20 years. This lead to the contamination of the drinking water used by around 60,000 people.

The company manufactures a range of products sold throughout Central America, including refreshments and tomato paste.
