Hong Kong’s first known victim of vCJD, the human form of BSE, has died earlier this week aged 35 years old.
The woman, who has been identified only as Chan, had suffered from the brain-wasting disease for 16 months.
Health officials from the Hong Kong Hospital Authority told Reuters that they believed the woman had contracted the deadly disease during the two occasions she lived in Britain; from 1985 to 1992 and then from 1997 to 2001.
