Indian biscuit maker Britannia Industries has booked rising quarterly profits despite a hike in the investment behind its brands.
The company posted net profit of INR474m (US$10m) for the three months to 30 June. Sales climbed 5.5% to INR7.31bn.
MD Vinita Bali said: “In an intensely competitive market, we significantly increased our investment behind brands and maintained operating margin.”
