Confectionery giant Cadbury is mulling a launch of its global sweet brands in India in a bid to boost sales in the country.
Cadbury India, the company’s local subsidiary, already markets brands such as Dairy Milk, Five Star and Eclairs, but access to the global portfolio will allow the sale of other popular chocolates bars such as Flake, TimeOut, Caramel and Wispa.
The director of sales and marketing, Bharat Puri, explained: “The option of importing global confectionery brands is open to us and we are evaluating various possibilities.”
Senior company officials added: “Wherever we find a need and if it makes economic sense to our customers, we will be importing some of the brands.”
