Israeli software vendor Retalix today announced its subsidiary StoreAlliance is launching a comprehensive market information service targeted at food suppliers. The new service will offer a system for analysing data, including market share and product availability across hundreds of stores.
StoreAlliance Israel provides web-enabled applications and electronic commerce services to the Israeli food retail industry. The services are based on receiving information from ‘sell-out’ date received daily from 400 independent food retailers, all members of the StoreAlliance e-marketplace. The aggregate annual revenues of these stores amount to US$900m, representing 25% of the independent food market in Israel.
The daily sales data accumulated by the system is then analysed to produce customised reports on market share, average selling price and product availability. The company said the system has been tested by a number of leading Israeli food manufacturers, including Elite (confectionery and coffee), Tnuva (dairy products), and Sunfrost (frozen foods).
