Troubled Italian food group Parmalat has put its chocolate brand Streglio up for sale, according to an advertisement by the company in an Italian newspaper.

Parmalat is inviting letters of interest for control of the brand that must be filed by 22 March. The Milan branch of KPMG Corporate Finance is handling the sale, reported Dow Jones International News.

Turin-based Streglio was acquired by Parmalat three years ago and had 2002 sales of around €10m (US$12.3m).
