Swiss food giant Nestlé has said it is not interested in acquiring troubled Italian food group Parmalat.
“We have no interest in Parmalat,” a spokesman was quoted by Reuters as saying, in response to media reports that Nestlé might be looking at buying all or parts of the Italian firm.
Reports in Swiss newspapers suggested that Nestlé and France’s Danone may be interested in acquiring some or all of Parmalat’s assets.
