Netherlands-based Izico Food Group has announced a change in name, with the new moniker taken from a recent acquisition, the UK vegetarian foods supplier Goodlife Foods.

The new name of GoodLife Foods will officially take effect on 1 February, Izico Food Group said today (7 January).

“The name GoodLife Foods responds on the one hand to our existing product range and additionally indicates we recognise the changing demand for more sustainable and vegetarian products,” Izico Food Group CEO Kamiel Steendijk said. “The start of 2019 is a suitable moment for a fresh start. Besides our company growing and our product range expanding enormously, we also want to express our passion for food more in our name.”

Izico Food Group acquired Goodlife Foods in late 2017, a deal that came two years after the Dutch company’s first foray into the UK through the purchase of ethnic foods supplier Daloon Foods.

Breda-based Izico Food Group has bought seven companies since 2013. The manufacturer’s most acquisition came in July last year when it snapped up local peer Exellent Food & Snacks.
