Japan’s largest wholesaler Kokubu & Co and Mitsui Foods announced yesterday (3 April) that they will enter into a comprehensive partnership in food operations.

According to the Nikkei Report, Kokubu will help Mitsui Foods improve its earnings by offering assistance and guidance as well as by dispatching personnel. The two companies also hope to integrate their national distribution networks. There are no plans for a capital partnership at present.

“We will be able to jointly bolster sales of commercial-use foods and other areas,” said Kokubu Chairman and President Kanbei Kokubu at a press conference yesterday.
