Japanese retailer Lawson reportedly intends to begin selling its value line of low-cost prepared meals nationwide from next week.

The JPY105 (US$1.11) value line has proven popular in Tokyo and Nagoya, where it has been available since April. The range has reportedly lifted sales of prepared foods in the Tokyo area threefold.

Lawson now plans to expand sales to Hokkaido, northern Japan, on Monday and in the rest of the country on Tuesday, Jiji press reported.
