Two Japanese food companies revealed today [Thursday] that they have filed for court protection from creditors.


Japan’s KB Co, a producer of frozen foods, posted group debts of ¥9.99bn (US$75.54m) at the end of November.


Meanwhile, Kitanokazoku Co, an operator of Japanese style taverns, revealed debts of ¥11.6bn. The firm insisted however that it will continue day-to-day operations, and that unlisted hotel and restaurant operator, C’est-la-vie resort will be helping in its rehabilitation process.
