The Rigas Piensaimnieks dairy, one of Latvia’s largest milk processors, has said that it expects to generate sales of EUR34.67m (US$43.41m), a year-on-year increase of 15%.

According to a report in the Baltic Business Weekly, Edgars Stelmahers, chairman of the board, said the turnover growth would be achieved in the domestic market.

“Latvia`s market has large potential for dairy product consumption,” he said, adding that Latvian people lag behind Europe and Scandinavia in average dairy product consumption. “Thus, dairy companies may also grow along increase in dairy product consumption,” said Stelmahers.
