Australia’s building planning watchdog yesterday (18 November) issued its draft consent for a Lindt manufacturing facility to open in Marsden Park, Sydney.

The location will comprise of a Lindt manufacturing facility, warehouse and showroom. 

Products made here will be supplied to Lindt retail channels in Australia and New Zealand a spokesperson for Lindt told just-food. 

The facility will also produce fresh chocolates to be sold in the showroom and fresh cakes, ice creams and macarons, for sale across Lindt’s eight chocolate cafes in Melbourne and Sydney.

The project is expected to be complete by October 2015, subject to the final go-ahead from the NSW Planning & Environment authority.

Marsden Park will also house Lindt’s Australia headquarters from January 2016.
