Not exactly famed for serving food synonymous with healthy eating, the parent company of fastfood chains Pizza Hut and KFC has vowed to dish up wholesome and balanced meals in the months to come.

T.C. Thoe, deputy president of KFC Holdings fastfood division, is cited in the Malay Mail as saying: “We want Malaysians to know that what we sell has excellent taste and nutrition.”

For example, Pizza Hut will ensure substances such as salt and monosodium glutamate (MSG) are kept to a minimum in its meals.

KFC Holdings is a unit of US giant Tricon Global Restaurants.
