The deal includes production assets in Lebanon in Indiana, featuring a 50,000-square-metre manufacturing facility.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquired business will be renamed SBFoods and operate under MaserGrup’s baby-food arm, Fruselva.

MaserGrup said it will retain Skjodt-Barrett’s current contract manufacturing workforce of 350 in the US and ten in Canada.

The group also plans to recruit close to 100 new employees to support the “expected growth in activity”, it said in the statement.

MaserGrup said the acquisition will strengthen its position as a “leading manufacturer of pouch-format products”.

It added the deal will give the group more capacity to supply international brands and retailers, and “reinforce its presence” in a category that includes infant nutrition and healthy children’s snacks.

In a statement, MaserGrup founder and president Xavier Martínez said: “This acquisition represents a major milestone in our business project.

“Skjodt-Barrett has built a high-quality organisation, with top-tier customers, major suppliers, deep sector expertise and a highly qualified team. We want to build on these strengths to open a new stage of joint development and continue providing the best possible service to our customers.”

Skjodt-Barrett’s contract manufacturing division makes baby food, children’s fruit snacks, protein smoothies, cooking sauces, dressings, and condiments.

Backed by Skjodt-Barrett’s revenue of more than $150m and an annual output of over 300 million units, MaserGrup expects its group revenue to exceed €400m in 2027.

MaserGrup, which is also active in construction and real estate, generated revenue of €224m in 2025.

Earlier this year, the Reus-based group said it had earmarked €100m for expansion through new factories and M&A.

MaserGrup invested in Switzerland-based organic baby-food marketer Holle Baby Food in June last year and bought local spirits business Perucchi 1876 a month later.
