Materne North America , the US arm of France’s Groupe MOM, has announced plans to move its apple sauce brand GoGo squeeZ into the yoghurt category.

The company is rolling out GoGo squeeZ YogurtZ, a natural yoghurt snack that does not need refrigeration. The product comes packaged in the GoGo squeeZ pouch.

The company said the products contain “nothing artificial” and are made with low-fat yoghurt and fruit. The milk to produce the yoghurt is sourced from Materne ‘s 70 exclusive “partner farms” located in the Normandy region of France. The milk is free from artificial growth hormones such as rBST and antibiotics. All products are gluten free, nut free and Kosher certified.

Additionally, each three ounce pouch delivers four grams of protein and 15% of the recommended daily value of calcium and vitamin D.

GoGo squeeZ YogurtZ will be available in three varieties: strawberry, banana and berry.

Cheif marketing officer Philippe Harousseau said:  “With the launch of GoGo squeeZ YogurtZ, we are continuing to broaden our mission of providing parents with truly nutritious and delicious snacks their kids will love, while conveniently meeting their needs across dayparts and occasions.”

Bill Graham, president and GM at Materne North America, said that the company hopes to capitalise on category growth in healthy snacks through the launch. “The healthy snacking category continues to grow rapidly, and we are proud to take our latest innovation, GoGo squeeZ YogurtZ, to the US market first,” he said.

Graham added that the group is preparing to launch the new products in other global markets but did not elaborate on which countries the firm is looking at. “Like we did before with GoGo squeeZ Applesauce On The Go, we are re-inventing a category to expand the healthy, on-the-go snacking options for families. We are so proud of the GoGo squeeZ YogurtZ innovation, we are already working on expanding the rollout in other global markets.”

GoGo squeeZ YogurtZ is available in four-count packages at grocers nationwide in the US for a suggested retail price of US$3.29.
