Dutch meat processor Dumeco is to reorganise its management, shedding 56 jobs, following the absorption of the Hendrix Meat Group.
“The merger of the two companies has led to some duplication in management positions and this has necessitated some degree of reorganisation,” the company said. “The integration process will also result in the loss of 56 jobs in the new Dumeco organisation. As many individuals as possible affected by these changes will be found alternative positions within the organisation. However, it has not proved possible to find alternative work for 35 of these employees.”
Dumeco is part of the Bestmeat arm of Sovion, formerly known as Best Agrifund. Sovion’s acquisition of Hendrix Meat was cleared by the European Commission on 22 December 2004.
