Dutch food wholesaler Sligro Food Group generated 2004 turnover worth €1.447bn (US$1.95bn).
This represents a sharp improvement on the €1.356bn reported for 2003, and comes in just slightly behind analysts’ estimates of 1.456bn, reported EuroBench. Growth in non-consolidated turnover was 0.1%, or 1.7% year-on-year.
Turnover contributed by the foodservice division was 11.7%, with the contribution from food retail down 2.5%. Non-consolidated turnover from foodservice increased by 3% while food retail turnover declined by 5.0%.
The acquisition of local caterer VEN Groothandelcentrum BV (VEN) contributed €61m to Sligro’s 2004 turnover, EuroBench concluded.
