ENZA is set to lose its marketing monopoly this year, however first it has revealed that it will impose a compulsory levy of NZ$4.5 a carton on growers to clear debts racked up by the old Apple and Pear Marketing board. Cooper said that the only way he can pay the charge is by selling part of his land, and added that many other growers will be similarly hurt.
