Norwegian dairy co-operative Tine has decided against selling its Diplom-Is ice cream unit.

Tine sold parts of Diplom-Is to Unilever last year and this autumn started to examine the future of the rest business and look into a possible complete disposal.

However, in a statement today (13 December), Tine said its board had “decided not to proceed with this process”.

A spokesperson for Tine declined to comment further when contacted by just-food.

Unilever acquired the Danish part of Diplom-Is last year. The Norwegian unit is one of the country’s two largest ice cream makers.
